A bedside wall light that keeps the glow low and close

The texture catches under a fingertip before the eye even notices it. This bedside wall light is a hollow shell, hand-moulded and mounted flush to the wall, with a frosted glass globe set deep in the cavity. Once evening comes, the hollow fills with an amber glow that slides along the wall rather than falling from above.

Five shapes, two textures

The collection comes in five shapes born from the same gesture: the Petal (30 x 18 cm), tapering toward the base; the Shell (25 x 21 cm), open like a bivalve; the Nest (30 x 28.5 cm), round and deep; the Pebble (25 x 23 cm), softly faceted; and the Cup (25 x 19.5 cm), notched upward. Each is available in two textures: Sand, finely combed like a raked render, or Cream, thicker and softer. The body is hand-moulded, high-density polystyrene, matte, in a warm ecru that reflects no glare.

A light that stays low

The single source sits recessed in the cavity, lighting the wall before it reaches the room. It is an ambient, bedside light, meant to accompany the end of the day across roughly 3 to 5 m², not to light a work surface. The included G4 LED bulb can be chosen in warm white 3000K, neutral white 4000K, cool white 6000K, or a version combining all three temperatures in one bulb.

What to know before drilling

The shell mounts flush to the wall and wires directly into the mains, with no cord or plug, so a wired outlet is needed at the fitting point, as with any hardwired wall light. It runs on 90 to 260V. Wired for 90 to 260 V, it suits UK 230 V mains. Brightness is fixed rather than dimmable. It weighs around 2 kg, and a bedside mounting height of roughly 130 to 150 centimetres from the floor is typical.
