A chrome table lamp that holds its own spotlight inside

An oversized bulb of hand-blown glass rests on a polished metal base. Inside, a tiny spotlight waits, its warm beam passing straight through the glass wall. This chrome table lamp does more than light a room, it gives something to look at.

Blown glass and polished chrome

The dome traces the exact silhouette of an old-fashioned bulb, a broad rounded shoulder narrowing to a slender foot. The glass is blown, perfectly clear with no tint or frosting, sitting on a flat circular base in mirror-polished chrome where the cord exits. Inside, a chromed rod flares into a small dish at the base, rises, then tilts forward to carry a tiny hemispherical spotlight with a faceted reflector that catches the light. Two sizes are available: Ø 17 x H 26 cm for a bedside table or shelf, Ø 25 x H 42 cm when the room asks for a stronger presence.

A beam you steer with a fingertip

On the outside of the glass, a small chromed disc holds the spotlight in place by magnet. Slide it across the dome and the spotlight follows inside, with nothing to open. You choose what the light picks out, the texture of a plastered wall, the edge of a stack of books, or simply the glass itself, glowing from within. The LED source is included, in warm white 3000K, the rounded tone that warms wood and stone at the end of the day. Expect an accent light for a 5 to 10 m² room: it dresses a sofa, an entrance console, a bedside or a desk, without replacing the main ceiling light.

Plug in and go, no wiring needed

The lamp arrives assembled, ready to set down and plug into any standard socket. The 150 cm cord carries an inline push-button switch within easy reach. Wired for 90 to 260 V, it suits UK 230 V mains. Brightness is fixed rather than dimmable, kept deliberately soft. Because the glass is blown by hand, each dome carries its own small bubbles and variations in thickness, a mark of the maker's hand rather than a flaw.
