A concrete pendant light that fits in the hand

Some lights fill a room. This one does the opposite. It settles above a worktop like a pebble, discreet, and leaves all the room to the light. Twelve and a half centimetres of matt concrete topped with a light wood cylinder, and nothing else.

Raw concrete, light wood, nothing more

The shade is concrete, matt and slightly porous, with the fine pitting that casting leaves and the seam line running at mid height. A light wood cylinder with visible grain caps it and warms the material. The cone measures Ø 12.5 cm for 16 cm in height, hung on a black textile cable that drops through its centre. Four matt tones to choose from: Terracotta, Sage Green, Concrete Grey and Black.

A directed light, exactly where it's needed

The cone, open downward, concentrates the beam on what matters: a worktop, a counter, an end of table. A gold reflector inside warms the light on its way out. The light colour is chosen at order, Warm White for the end of the day, Cool White for cooking. Reckon on 3 to 5 square metres lit per point of light: this is a model made to be lined up, two or three above an island are worth more than one alone in the middle of nowhere.

Ready to wire, no surprises on unboxing

Standard E27 fitting, LED bulb included, wired for 90 to 260 V, it suits UK 230 V mains: the light connects to an ordinary ceiling outlet, like any pendant, with a single source per piece. This model isn't dimmable and has no built in switch, adjustment happens at the wall switch. Concrete weighs more than a fabric shade, so the ceiling fixing deserves a solid anchor point.
