A large pendant light that lights the table without blocking the view

A wing of white acrylic, so flat it seems to float above the table, pierced at its centre by an opal globe that lights up like a small heart of light. This large pendant light fills the width of the space without filling the view: you see it, you don't have to look around it.

An acrylic wing, a heart of opal

The shade is a broad saucer of translucent white acrylic, smooth and unribbed, tapering to a fine edge. An opal glass globe pierces its centre, its lower half left visible and capped with a small matt black metal dome. Below the globe, a slim black spike points downward and finishes the silhouette. Two sizes are available, Ø 40cm at 36cm tall or Ø 60cm at 48cm tall, with a cord adjustable up to 120cm.

Light from the whole surface

Rather than reflecting light, the acrylic lets it through: the whole wing lights up and lays a soft sheet of light across the table, without hotspots or hard shadows. Three tones are offered, warm white 3000K for the end of the day, neutral white 4000K for a clear, honest light, cool white 6000K for an open kitchen, giving between 249 and 2000 lumens depending on the version. Its natural place is above a dining table, a kitchen island, or a coffee table in the sitting room, across roughly 3 to 5 square metres.

Ready to hang, bulb included

The pendant arrives with its G9 LED bulb already included, so there's nothing to buy before switching it on. It wires to the ceiling like any standard pendant, on a 90 to 260V supply suited to UK 230V mains, and is controlled from an ordinary wall switch. The cord shortens to the height you want at the time of fitting. One thing to know before ordering: this fitting isn't designed for a dimmer switch, and the switch itself isn't included.
