No two shades are quite the same on this one, and that is rather the point. This table lamp pairs a hand-woven rice paper shade with an iron tripod base, drawn straight from the Japanese wabi-sabi tradition of finding beauty in the handmade and the slightly uneven.
Woven rice paper, an iron tripod
The oval shade is rice paper, entirely hand-woven, so every lamp carries a small, individual character in its weave. It rests on a slender iron tripod, kept deliberately spare so the shade remains the focus. The lamp stands Ø26 x 43 cm, and is offered in several shade colours to suit different rooms.
Light filtered through paper, warm or cool
Light passes through the woven rice paper as a soft, diffused glow rather than a direct beam, well suited to a bedside table, a desk, or a calm corner of a living room. A three-colour version switches between warm white and cool white at the wall switch, while a dimmable version with remote control adds adjustable brightness from across the room.
Freestanding, an E27 bulb to choose
It stands on its own with a standard plug-in fitting, no installation required, and runs on 90 to 260 V, wired for UK 230 V mains. It takes an E27 LED bulb of 6 to 10W (bulb not included), enough to light a space of 3 to 5 m².
