A wall light where the light seems to break out of the stone
A sphere of yellow travertine, hollowed by hand, set against the wall like a pebble pulled from the quarry. Through its middle runs an irregular crack that lets light escape upward and downward. This wall light does more than illuminate: at the thinned edge of the break, the stone glows from within with broad patches of amber.
Real stone, never quite the same twice
The body is carved from natural yellow travertine, a cream limestone with open pores and fine ochre veining. Its visible face draws a circle of Ø20 cm and the whole piece reaches 16 cm out from the wall, enough to catch daylight in relief. The crack follows an irregular break, held at its centre by a small gold pin. Porosity, tone and veining shift from one piece to the next, the stone's signature rather than a flaw.
Two veils of light, a wall that breathes
The crack throws a veil of light toward the ceiling and a second toward the floor, leaving the wall in a soft half-light between the two. At the head of a bed, this wall light can replace a bedside lamp without cluttering the table. In a hallway, it sets the pace of the passage. In a living room, it warms a bare wall. Choose a warm white bulb, around 2700 to 3000K: it's this tone that makes the travertine glow, where a cool light would leave it flat.
Fitting and connection
The wall light fixes onto a round Ø10 cm mounting plate, hidden entirely once the stone is in place. The connection runs to the wall's wiring: an electrical point is needed at the fitting location, this wall light doesn't plug into a socket. It takes a G4 bulb, not included, and runs on 85 to 260V. Wired for 85 to 260V, it suits UK 230V mains. Brightness isn't adjustable.
