A vintage desk lamp with the quiet confidence of Danish design
Nineteen-fifties Danish desk lamps had a knack for saying a lot with very little: a domed shade, a curved neck, one deliberate joint. This vintage desk lamp follows that same restraint, built in iron and metal with a hemispherical dome that tilts on a curved, chrome-plated neck.
Iron dome, chrome neck, a recognisable silhouette
Elsin stands 42.5 centimetres tall on an 18 centimetre base, with the dome spanning 28.5 centimetres across. The arched chrome neck contrasts with the lacquered dome, and the shade tilts freely to point the light where it is needed, whether that is a desk, a bedside table or a quiet corner of the sitting room. It comes in black, white, red or dark green.
Light directed down, made for reading
The dome throws a concentrated pool of light downward, better suited to reading or close work than to lighting a whole room. A simple button switch sits on the cord itself, so it can be found and used without hunting for the lamp in the dark.
A wall plug and a bulb of your choice
Elsin stands freely and connects with a standard wall plug, running on 90 to 260 V. Wired for 90 to 260 V, it suits UK 230 V mains. It takes an E27 bulb, not included, so the wattage and light colour can be chosen to suit the room, and it comfortably lights a space of 3 to 5 m².
